Critical RC1 Bug

I've just found (back) my SSCLI DVD. When I'm trying to open up the contents, it seems IE7 (or Windows Vista) still have a critical bug. I'm running build 5600, and will confirm tomorrow on build 5744.

When you tried opening up a web page in a DVD writer, IE forward the address to "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn\" folder, which is the default temporary burn folder. Since this is a burnt DVD, there will be no file in that folder. So IE can't display any of it. Feeding the address directly to IE, e.g. "G:\Default.htm", does not solve the problem.

I seem to have lost the Product Feedback Application shortcut found in Beta builds, so this might not get into RTM. LOL.

What a bug...

UPDATE: I've just found a workaround, just load the CD/DVD to a non-writer drive. :D

UPDATE: It seems that this bug has already been crushed in RC2. Thank goodness! RC2 behaves the same.
