I'm spending several minutes going through the blogs on my read list (while uninstalling some no longer used programs -- like Visual Studio 2005). Here are several interesting posts:
- Visual Studio 2008 is pirated already! Ronald have the news.
- There's a business competition sponsored by PT Microsoft Indonesia called iMulai. Is it Apple related? You tell me! More: www.imulai.com
- Identity Chernobyl in UK. Basically, information about personal data for 25mil Brits are exposed to the public. Kim Cameron (the Microsoft Identity Guy) reports it.
- (not exactly a blog) Zune Originals -- customize your Zune design. Now would anyone tell me that Zune is not the iPod killer? www.ZuneOriginals.net (available using US IP Address only, sorry)
Have a great week!

Yes, you hear that right. One-way hashing for password is not enough. With Google, you can now search for hashes and find the original string. There's some catch though:
- this works for common passwords, strong passwords are unlikely be common, and unlikely be available.
- this works for hashed-only passwords. Add some salt and very likely you won't be able to search for the original string either.
For example, a search for "20f1aeb7819d7858684c898d1e98c1bb" will return a lot of result stating that the original string is "Anthony". Very convenient.

The Zune v2.0 is just out. Updating now...
...and it's done!
In summary:
- the new UI is sweeeeet! This is going to be a chic magnet. Even cooler than the iPot cover flow.
- they even have 6 background which all of them are really artsy.
- zune card... just like xbox gamertag, but somehow more interactive. Here's mine: Adrian Godong
- you can send message to another Zune!
- podcast, finally.
Will post pictures later.

So just now I attended the Singapore MVP Gathering. Quite a lot of folks here, and seems more competitive but cooperative between user group.
So the guy, Sukhdev Singh from Microsoft Learning, told us about the new Microsoft Certifications. We already knew about the simplified certifications for Visual Studio 2005 (only need 2 tests for MCTS), now those simplifications are extended towards Windows Server (1 test for MCTS) and SQL Server (also 1 test for MCTS) certifications. Other than that, there are several improvements over the certification program that will roll out in the coming months. What you can find now are (to name a few):
- Logo Builder (you can grab the certification logo to put on your card or wherever)
- Downloadable Certificate (in XPS or PDF)
- Transcript (you can get every test you've been on XPS or PDF too)
You can find out about the latest Microsoft Certification here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/default.mspx.
Next up is Howard's birthday cake. His birthday actually last month, but he's in East Timor (with the peacekeeping forces, lol). Lilian threw a small cake for him.
And the biggest surprise is, tomorrow is the BIG day. AK will be very, very disappointed. What is it? We'll see tomorrow (if it's true, this is a half confirmed rumor).
