Self-Organizing Map (SOM)
One of object recognition algorithms is Self-Organizing Map (SOM). This great algorithm for unsupervised learning. I try to study this algorithm as a part of literature study on my thesis. I found the great book about detail of SOM on "Self-Organizing Maps", written by Prof. T. Kohonen. Who is Prof. Kohonen ? I know him from my artificial neural network book. He is founder of Self-Organizing Map (SOM) for Kohonen Network.
You can learn detail of this algorithm from his book. I also look for this book in library. I hope I can find this book. Many fields of science have adopted the SOM as a standard analytical tool: statistics, signal and image processing, control theory, robotic, financial analysis, experimental physics, chemistry and medicine so I try to use this algorithm for my research purpose. If it's applicable then I use this. I have 3 months to finalize my research proposal. I don't want to miss this moment. Learning.. exploring.. researching... coaching... selling
