Pada tanggal 27 February 2012, ada pengumuman di site APP HUB (http://create.msdn.com/en-US/) mengenai Windows Phone SDK 7.1.1 Technology Preview dengan detail sebagai berikut:
This Community Technology Preview (CTP) release provides developers with a preview of the upcoming WPSDK Update, which will enables developers to develop and test for the recently announced Windows Phone 7.5 256 MB devices. The 7.1.1 Update provides the following. Please note, the CTP is based on a very early build of the Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh.
- Updated 512 MB OS Emulator Image: An updated build Windows Phone OS 7.1
- New 256 MB OS Emulator Image: A new Windows Phone OS 7.1 emulator image that emulates 256 MB devices
- Ability to debug or run your WP apps in either the 256 MB or 512 MB emulator
- Intellisense support for adding the new 512 MB requirement to the Windows Phone App Manifest file
- WPSDK Support for English and Simplified Chinese
In the next month, we will be providing an updated/final version of the WPSDK 7.1.1 Update, which will contain the final Windows Phone 7.5 Refresh emulator images to emulate both the 512 MB and 256 MB devices. Also in the final release will be support for Malay and Indonesian within the emulator OS images.
yang ingin disorot disini adalah Microsoft menyediakan emulator untuk mengemulasikan aplikasi / game yang dibuat di 2 buah emulator, yaitu emulator 256 MB dan 512 MB, ketersediaan emulator untuk 256MB mungkin dikaitkan dengan akan munculnya beberapa Smartphone yang tergolong di middle class dengan harga sekitar 2-3 juta seperti nokia 610. dengan kehadiran emulator 256 MB ini developer seolah diingatkan untuk melakukan refactoring aplikasinya agar bisa berjalan dengan baik di smartphone dengan memory yang lebih rendah.
dan kabar baik lainnya adalah akan tersedianya bahasa malaysia dan indonesia di emulator tersebut, yang menandakan, mungkin di lumia 610, pureview ,lumia 900 atau ZTE Orbit akan tersedia menu dengan bahasa indonesia :)
