Dahulu kala ada Konfabulator, dan yang membuat-nya 'cool' ketika idea ini ada di MacOSX ("Dashboard").
Ratusan widgets di buat oleh banyak orang untuk dashboard macosx.
Sekarang konfabulator ini menjadi Yahoo! Widgets.
Jadi nanti jangan bingung kalau ada yang bilang widget? just reply what widget? Yahoo! atau Dashboard.

Kalau di bilang kedua teknologi itu mirip deliver software by web -- seperti posting-posting sebelum-nya.
Engine widget ini akan merender di desktop; jadi Engine Widget ini seperti 'web browser'.
Yang akan menarik bila nanti ada 'Microsoft Widget'. :-)
Tentu dengan teknologi dari vista (baca: Avalon (WFP)), web deliver software with 3D and video. Language-nya bisa dengan XAML.
Tentu bisa jadi alternatif dari ClickOnce Technology dan 'mr. heavy' java applet.

Kalau membaca posting Online Word Processing.
Ternyata microsoft akhirnya meluncurkan web deliver Office-nya.
Penasaran cek out di Microsoft Office Live. Walaupun seperti software untuk webhosting.
