Five Things U Don't Know About Me

Following the trend among bloggers around the world, Norman posted five things that we (may) don’t know about him, and now he’s also tagging everybody to write the similar crap. So here’s the five thing that you don’t know about me (a narcissist post after so many months I haven’t post a single thing in my blogs :D )

  • I use computer heavily since junior high. But I’ve been on and off with computer since elementary school, used the computer in my father office, taking advantage of his position :D. On junior high as well I started to learn about programming language. I used the one that come with the computer (XT – 8086, MS BASIC was in the ROM).
As advance I become, I then use different flavor of BASIC language with different IDE, I ended up with Turbo Basic and then move to Power Basic. I hate Quick Basic and never understand the GW-BASIC (which for me it was just another BASICA). On the beginning of senior high I used Turbo Pascal 4.5, but on my somophore  year I started to use Visual Basic 3.0 and ended up to hate Delphi.
On .NET era, I used VB.NET in the beginning and have been successfully converted to C#. Never look back since (except for some project where the client specifically asked to use VB.NET)
  • I used to be PHP Developer and successfully delivered several project using it. Even further I even had a product build with PHP 4.0 (an office collaboration kind of thing) and sold it to a local SME in Jakarta. My relation with PHP is love and hate relations. My ideal platform is always Microsoft, but there were several reasons I chose the other (you bet, financial hehehe).
  • I played basketball, I even had practice with local club in Surabaya (CLS and Pasific), but mostly I played in high school and college though never make on varsity team because I had a tendency to skip practice. I had a high jump and got a Jordan nickname from one of my college buddy because once I made a basket by lay up over him (he is 15 cm taller than me).
  • I danced in elementary school, my mother forced me. I practiced a traditional dance such as Remo, Srimpi(?), etc. Don’t ask me now, I totally and completely forget about it.
  • My wife was my college friend. We were on the same major, but never be a lover back then. We met again in Jakarta after 8 years, and it only took us 3 months to get married.
