I was once one of your Binus' students under Multimedia course. I did remember that u used to be under the "so-called" dark side. I remember u used to name ASP = Amat Sangat Pelan :) It was since Plasmedia become Ms' official partner I guess that u've shifted ur paradigm to Ms. No offense anyway, just a comment :)

For .NET requirements, of course the choices are limited. The most popular one is DotNetNuke, besides Microsoft's own SharePoint (MOSS) which can also be used as a CMS, if you wish to pay (it's directed towards enterprises). So of course for "cheap" websites using .NET for those who doesn't want to write the code from scratch, DotNetNuke is the solution.

I'm not switching to PHP and then back again. I'm using both sides (Microsoft and open-source). By grokking PHP I got a lot of new insights in C#. C# is still my language of choice for enterprise solutions, but PHP is a nice alternative for quick 'n' easy things. And I learned so much from Drupal. The API is not object-oriented in a strict sense, but the concept itself is object-oriented! This is a contradiction but true. I'm amazed that the design was so flexible and a lot of things that are difficult to do in conservative OOP proved to be so easy in PHP.

So my advice to you guys, use C# as your primary language, but don't close your eyes to other languages. Your knowledge of them will improve your knowledge in C#. Try PHP, Ruby on Rails... anything you like.

Have you tried it ?

With DotNetnuke you would not switch to PHP (then back to Microsoft Technology) -- ups... you have better known than me ;-)

Many thanks. I found your article after frustrating sessions trying to get Word 2007 to produce page numbers: I had upgraded from B2TR which had failed to do so, but I just put that down to its beta status. I closed Word, used desktop search and deleted all examples of Building blocks.dotx then restarted Word. Silly the things Microsoft overlooks!

Hi,

I've tried to follow the steps to publish my InfoPath 2007 to MOSS and enable browser-viewing.

However, in step 14 of "In InfoPath 2007", the checkbox

"Enable this form to be filled out using a browser"

is disabled.

Why does this happen? I've checked the MOSS that the InfoPath Forms Services should be enabled on the server.

Please suggest any method to fix it.
