About Me

Hore! Libur telah tiba! Hatiku gembira! (Semester 2 sudah selesai) :)

Phew! Akhirnya kuliah semester 2 beres juga! What a tough semester!

Many things learned from the following subjects this semester:

  • Parallel Computing (Especially the parallel implementation of numerical algorithms - love it!)
  • Computational Intelligence (Covering: Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, SVM - a tip of it, Fuzzy Logic, ANFIS, Intro to Pattern Recognition)
  • Computer Network Analysis (The fundamentals that any computer professionals must understand)
  • Knowledge Management (Anyway, feel like I did It for Theresia. Smile Good luck, dear. Take care!)

Also from my activity as Teaching Assistant in the Numerical Analysis class in the Department of Mathematics.

But if there's really one thing I learned, it is that: In grad school,

BRILLIANCE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH, YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD!

I am sure that my brilliance is above the average mortals, but I've learned for sure that it is not enough. Don't wait until tomorrow what you can do today means a lot to me now. Smile. I hope I can work hard next semester. Work "smart" is not enough. Need to work "smart" as hard as possible. Push it to the limit.See if there is a limit, and see it can be pushed beyond, and so on.

Anyway, Semester 2 is done. Libur telah tiba. Mungkin September baru masuk kuliah lagi. So, Libur satu bulan lebih. Yummy! Very good timing, karena pada saat yg sama saya juga akan masuk kantor baru & menjalani role baru, mulai hari Rabu, 23 Juli besok. New days will come, new sunlight in the face, new air to breath. A restart. Leaving a nice and cozy job of CTO and back to crunching my compilers and talk about it. Btw, it is nice to hear that Microsoft HR and some other folks there explicitly say: "For you, we won't just say 'Welcome!', but we would say 'Welcome Home!'". Smile Finally, I work there in a place that I've been considered as "second office" for the last five years.

Back to campus stuff, next semester I will learn:

  • Pattern Recognition
  • Expert Systems
  • Research Methodology

And of course, a more serious work on my thesis in Numerical Analysis/Computational Mathematics.

Sekarang, liburan dulu! What does it mean? Start my Pet projects! What would they be? Just wait, bear with me. I & Risman are preparing something that is crazy delicious (Hint: Do you watch similarities in my blog posts & Risman's? ;).

Yes!! I totally agreed with you Normy. Brilliance is not enough. The most important thing is boldness and hard working. Those require good time management to make us balance. We can do a lot if we have good time management.

In my master degree I learnt to solve complex problem and I learn to learn complex stuff. I can see that you are in the same track!. Good luck! Daron Green, one of my mentor said, Pattern Recognition + Parallelism will be sexy in near future :).

The answer is : something related with PARALLELISM

right?
