Bulan April 2006... Event BinaISV 2006 di Yogya tengah diselenggarakan. Semua terasa baik-baik saja. ISV yang antusias, infrastruktur yang mencukupi, selayaknya membuat event ini semua lancar..
Well seperti biasanya CD training datang H-1 :) so kurikulum baru diketahui minggu malam. Agak aneh cause pihak Microsoft memberi CD VS-Express..but kurikulumnya menggunakan VS-Pro atau bahkan VSTS (in day 3)...wah wah wah i have no idea, since lab yang didesain menggunakan VS-Express.. Semenjak itu mulai terlihat bahwa Express can't do much..
1. Hari 1 --> semua baik-baik aja since everything can do by Express.
2. Hari 2 --> Pattern is oke but sudah mulai Entlib :( --> vs express?? 3.
Hari 3 --> VSTS & Team foundation :( --> vs express??
Setelah tahu harga VSPro, Peserta yang notabene ISV mungkin mulai bertanya.. can i do more with VS Express. Beberapa saran kecil untuk enhance VS Express
Q: Tidak ada fitur Deployment Project :(
A : Coba pakai NInstall, atau free isntaller seperti Ghost Installer Free :)
Q: Tidak bisa mengkompilasi EntLib :(
A: Coba cari atau gunakan EntLIb yang telah redistributable (telah terkompilasi .dll)
Q: Tidak ada fitur Obfuscator
A: Coba cari tentang dotnet obfuscator or cari wise own deamoner
Q: Tidak ada fitur testing
A: Coba gunakan Nunit
Q: Tidak bisa create Database SQL Server dengan IDE
A: Tidak ada cara yang baik kecuali memasang Express Management studio
Q: Tidak ada class designer
A: Well coba pakai AgroUML yang sudah mendukung forward engineering ke C#
Q: Fitur Refactoring Sedikit
A: Well tampaknya harus manual.. :(

Microsoft BinaISV a program to accelarate the ISV, a Program to connected the ISV, a program to join the chain of University and Industry,....and soo many :)
This event will be held three batch in three month..not only the training, BinaISV will connect local ISV with international company. wanna se some info about it just visit http://mti.ugm.ac.id
Well it's so sad to hear that, we know nobody in computer science academic which never touch one of this IDE Delphi, C++Builder, C#Builder, JBuilder (and Peloton), InterBase, JDataStore, nDataStore, Kylix, and our older Borland and Turbo language products and tools.
As an IDE Builder Borland did a good job..with their IDE, look at JBuilder, look at C# Builder..they can compete their IDE with huge software vendor like Microsoft or Sun Microsystem. with so many feature such as pattern, UML 2.0, Janeva, fuih...But now it's all over..Borland won't develop their IDE amymore..they will sell it..:(
As they said in their press release http://bdn.borland.com/article/0,1410,33439,00.html they will focus in ALM...at least i can see my second favourite company still there..
Bye-Bye Borland, your IDE is still remember in my memory..from Turbo..till C# Builder 2006, From JBuilder to Together..
