It is very disappointing indeed...
We didn't even get into the Top 6. Do notice that we are competing with the best from each country. It seems Indonesia's best is not on par with the rest of the world's best... hehe. Ada percakapan antar-mahasiswa ITB & Poland disana:
ITB Student: I can't get that microcontroller in Indonesia.
Poland Student: Oh, in Poland it's very easy to get this microcontroller.
And another interesting thing on the closing speech by British Telecom President:
”27 years ago, you are nobody if you can't get 3 Kbps connection. Nowaday, you're nobody if you can't get 12 Mbps DSL connection”
What the heck? 12Mbps is the standard in the UK now? And while on plane to Delhi, I showed a Singapore newspaper ad that advertises their unlimited 10Mbps for SGD 68 (Rp 400.000) to the ITB students... if you don't believe me, here is the online details http://www.singnet.com.sg/plans_and_services/broadband/snbb.asp?snbb=KOatl
Selama impor barang (yg berhubungan dgn IT) dibuat susah dan selama harga Internet mahal, Indonesia sepertinya akan selalu ketinggalan dgn dunia lain :)
When will this photo become true (ie. no need to turn upside down, hehe), that Merah-Putih will be shown in front of 40+ teams worldwide:
