I don't know what's happening in the physics world, seems like all the physicists in the world are becoming programmers, which is a good thing as long as they're good at it :)
So, here's another interesting physics chap I found out today: (from http://www.drxudotnet.com/consult.html)
Dr. Xu has a Ph.D in theoretical physics and has over 15 years programming experience in Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, and C#, specializing in numerical computation methods, algorithms, physical modeling, computer-aided design (CAD) tool development, graphical user interfaces, and 2D and 3D graphics. Currently, his main interest is on the following area: - Charting and graphics application development using C#, GDI+, and WinForms.
- Charting and graphics application development using XAML and WPF.
- Charting and graphics application development using Silverlight 2.
- Graphical user interface and graphics applications using XAML and WPF.
- CAD tool development using WPF.
- Rich internet application (WPF, desk-top like) development for the Web using Silverlight 2.
Here's what I like about him:
- His website is using Silverlight 2.0
- He explains the physics behind bouncing ball with physics explanation (http://www.drxudotnet.com/wpf_ball.html). Since currently I'm interested in game programming and collision detection algorithms are must-learn stuff, his explanation is very comprehensive (of course, he's a PhD after all).
- He's selling his e-books for only $12 (http://www.drxudotnet.com/purchase.html). I have to give him the hat; now that's an author who embraces digital technology and uses it to provide lower-cost knowledge dispersion.
Okay, I might buy his e-books and write a review after I finish reading them...
