The Theoretical Physicist, Silverlight & WPF

I don't know what's happening in the physics world, seems like all the physicists in the world are becoming programmers, which is a good thing as long as they're good at it :)

So, here's another interesting physics chap I found out today: (from http://www.drxudotnet.com/consult.html)

Dr. Xu has a Ph.D in theoretical physics and has over 15 years programming experience in Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, and C#, specializing in numerical computation methods, algorithms, physical modeling, computer-aided design (CAD) tool development, graphical user interfaces, and 2D and 3D graphics. Currently, his main interest is on the following area:
  1. Charting and graphics application development using C#, GDI+, and WinForms.
  2. Charting and graphics application development using XAML and WPF.
  3. Charting and graphics application development using Silverlight 2.
  4. Graphical user interface and graphics applications using XAML and WPF.
  5. CAD tool development using WPF.
  6. Rich internet application (WPF, desk-top like) development for the Web using Silverlight 2.

Here's what I like about him:

    1. His website is using Silverlight 2.0
    2. He explains the physics behind bouncing ball with physics explanation (http://www.drxudotnet.com/wpf_ball.html). Since currently I'm interested in game programming and collision detection algorithms are must-learn stuff, his explanation is very comprehensive (of course, he's a PhD after all).
    3. He's selling his e-books for only $12 (http://www.drxudotnet.com/purchase.html). I have to give him the hat; now that's an author who embraces digital technology and uses it to provide lower-cost knowledge dispersion.

Okay, I might buy his e-books and write a review after I finish reading them...

There are two kind of persons in this planet: Ones that don't understand Physics, and the other ones who take care of those people. He..he..he..
